So the time has come to finally take this muskrat I paid $500 for, and turn it into a screaming beauty. Working with a 6k budget, I'm hoping to get around 350-400 WHP, and get this thing painted!

I'm currently working with a stock rebuilt block, has 14k miles on it so far. The only mods that will be staying are the 373's and the exhaust.

So, with this in mind, what do you guys recommend for my goal? 302, 347, 351W? Forced Induction? NO SPRAY! EVER!

:SNSign:

what kind of shape is everything in? rust, bushings, interior, paint etc.

id keep the low mile block. you have it why not use it, and get some nice heads cam intake. long tube headers. bushings. maybe a big brake upgrade, 5 lug if you dont have them... go over on the whole car not just the engine. leather seats... mmm

Everything is in decent shape except the paint, and the interior from weather. Would it be recommended that I switch to MAF?

For your HP goals, it's not necessary. You can run the engine combo you've got and even swap heads and intake if you like. The S-Trim will put you where you want to be for RWHP with the stock cam.

That kit will put you at 260+ at the wheels. Upgrading heads, intake, and TB along with the exhaust (if it's not up to snuff) will take you the rest of the way.
