here's the deal, I sold my mustang resto mod..it's scheduled to picked up by a transport truck in a few days and brought back east.. Yesterday I decided to take it for a ride to make sure everything was 110%..and the transmission started making a whining noise, pretty loud...not acceptable ..all I can is I'm glad it happened now and not once it was delivered to the new owner..I replaced the rear tailshaft seal and bushing,, but doubt that was the problem..transmission shop guy said , probably not the bands in the trans 'cause they don't make noise..they slip..any idea's? Or does anyone know a good trans shop, guy in Phoenix that can fix this asap?? I do have a trans shop that said they fix it by tuesday afternoon, but you know how that goes,,they'll find a 2500.00 worth of stuff wrong before they it it right and I really don't have time for screwing around.. Do you think dropping the pan, changing the fluid and filter would help..
If you have any good suggestion or possible causes please feel free to e-mail privately..

I've used

Quality Transmission
221 S McClintock Dr
Tempe, AZ 85281

(480) 966-5800

In the past I've used them to repair my FMX in my 72 along with the manual trans in my 89 ranger. They've been a member of the BBB since 1981, and I believe the Owner has been the president of the BBB in the past.

Their informative website is:

What ever you do don't go to any Cottman Transmission shop, they've had a horrid reputation in the valley for years.
