I have a 98 gt and mine did that too. I haven't heard of a recall though. I just went to the ford dealer and got a new one. The waterneck is all aluminum now so it shouldn't do that anymore. I wished they would have done this from the start. It would have saved 200 bucks and 5 hrs. of work.

My brothers 97 was recalled.....Maybe they will reimburse you if you pursue it!!...I was told by the local Ford (crooks)dealer there is no recall on the 99's!!!..I have a waranty that will cover it...but the problem with my 99 is the same problem they had with the 96-98!!!Why no recall??
96-97 were covered by a TSB for the cracking intake. 98's were not. Good luck on getting them to pay for your 99. I really doubt they will even consider it.
