Which wire do I tap into for the A/C input from my Spal controller It's either the Black/Yellow or the Pink/Light Blue.

these are the wires connected to the compressor.

I would use the input going *into* the LPCS. This will have a constant signal the entire time the AC is on, rather than cycling with the AC compressor (unless the controller has a timed-delay so a cycling compressor doesnt make the fan shut off and on recursively). This should be green/purple (your colors might vary).

If you don't want to do that:

Pink/lt blue will cycle with the LPCS but stay hot when at WOT.
Blk/Yellow will cycle with the LPCS and also shut off at WOT.

Good luck.

Oh man.

Like I said, I would use green/purple. It shows 12 volts the whole time the AC is turned on.

If you dont want to use that, Blk/yellow is fine. WIth this wire, your fan might constantly stop/start as the compressor cycles. I've worked on a car like this and it was lackluster. THis is why computer-controlled OEM fans have hysteresis built into the controls. THe fan will not shut off for like 30-60 seconds after the AC loses power. This keeps the fan on constantly while the compressor cycles.

Good luck.

I mentioned twice which wire I would use.

Of the two you mentioned above (neither is the one I'd use), the Blk/yellow would work. Your wire might appear to be have a different color trace because it's old. The blk/yellow wire is the positive wire going to the AC clutch.

Here's a schematic with the pathways. See the bottom left corner. Courtesy of S&2B's and TMoss (site host and author, respectively).

Thanks again. sorry for the confusion. I am not at all good with this electrical crap! i will try and find the green/purple wire. Do you know where it is? It says in the book: Air Conditioning input (+12VDC when A/C pump is on)

Can I use the charcoal canistor wire for the switchable link (orange from the Spal)

The green/purple wire is found at the LPCS. On the Passenger-side of your firewall, you will see the LPCS (see 60 in the picture below. Thanks to Stang22 and Almost Stock for the picture):

Here's a different AC diagram

The 12 volt VPWR feed to the purge solenoid should work ok.

Good luck.

Hissin???

i think I found it. Is it the green/purple wire that comes from the clutch cycling switch on the accumulator?

The pink/lt blue works. Just note that it will turn on and off as the compressor cycles.

Hissin

One more I promise!

I just need a switched ignition source and don't want to go thru firewall. Where is the easiest place? Just tell me the color of the wires and the number on the diagram to find it.

Your idea for the EVAP (CANP) circuit was fine.

Another S&2B's and TMoss diagram:

Look at the bottom left quadrant of the diagram (pins 37/57). That's 12 volt VPWR that goes to all the EEC systems. You can use this for a 'sense' circuit connection on your controller.
Alternatively, Just use the + side of the ignition coil (the connector is marked with a + and -). Your DMM will confirm which wire to connect to (I would NEVER ever make a connection without testing it first - no matter what a diagram says).

Good luck.
