my car seems to backfire every now and then, its not all the time. i would say its more on the intake side, plugs are new and wires look good, my car had the computer tuned and they set the timing so i don't think i should mess with that. it will not do it over 4000 rpms I would say it does it around 2500-3500 rpms. anyone have ANY ideas?

Thanks.

checked fuel pressure? fuel filter?

mine did it, went away from a combination of fuel filter swap and adjusting fuel pressure.

also try pulling codes. you could also have a vac leak (causing leanness and backfiring). stockish motor pulls around 15-20" of vac at idle. i dont know what your set up would pull.

good luck.

problems can meet criteria to store a code in the KAM, while never lighting the CEL (or having it flash quickly and then go out). but you are clearing the KAM right now, so never mind.

I also say check the fuel filter. Or even double check the timing.
