Most likely the u joints. Have they ever been replaced???

If not do it soon. Losing a drive shaft on the hwy can get u hurt or killed!

Where do you feel it at in the steering wheel or the bottom of the seat?

Good Question:

It could just be a unbalanced tire.

its not the tires for sure, and the vibration is coming from under the seat.

Start off by checking the u-joints. If not there i would say a bad bearing in the rear end. Why are you so sure that its not a tire vibration? Friend of mine just had two front tires put on and balanced, took the wheels home and put them on the car and took off down the road, could hardly hold the steering wheel it was so bad. So i took them up to where i work and check the balance one was out by 4 1/2 oz and the other was out by 1 1/2oz. So just because you just had them balanced or what not don't rule it out.

Oh I know what you mean, but my best friend owns a tire shop and he just checked them for me again on saturday. Question, If the drive shaft is taken out and not marked and then put back in not in the same position would that throw it off?

my car does the same thing 'cept it starts around 70-75ish. i'm about 90% sure it's my u-joints. i'm just gonna get an aluminum driveshaft though, don't wanna waste the money on u-joints just to turn around and get a new driveshaft.

I think it could be the way the driveshaft is bolted to the flange at the rear end??? Does this make sense?

I have vibration in my steering wheel. I am pretty sure that it is a slight bent rim. Could you have bent your rim in anyway?

How were your wheels balanced?
Check out this web site and see if there is one of these machines near you. This will rule out tires and wheels, for sure.

when you had the driveshaft out, did you have it balanced?? maybe when the gears were put in the shaft got dented.

Had the same problem a couple years ago. Had a vibration that seemed to oscillate from the front to the back at around 70-80mph. Went thru the whole tire balancing routine also. Changed out DS to a new Motorsport alumninum one and problem solved. I suppose it could have been one or both of the u-joints but as easy as it was to change out the whole thing in one shot rather than d--kin around with u-joints, it wasnt worth my time to find out..........l8r

FWIW, I had that same 2500-3000 RPM vibration as well. I changed out the stock balancer for a PP unit and replaced both motor mounts. The balancer was starting to give up and the vibration was amplified because of the dead motor mounts.
