I have been looking for a week for a tailhousing bushing for my t5 tranny and i cant find it anywhere, i even called a ford dealer and they called "Ford" and said they didnt have it in the computer for a t5, they said there was one on there for a auto. So for my next question, is the bushing in the auto and the manual the same,.. i figured it would be close since they can use the same driveshaft. Anyone know anyhtign aobu this let me know,...also none of the rebuild kits i have seen have this bushing in it.

You need a BEARING that is where some confusion may lie, my local parts store AutoZone, Advanced an even the mom and pop shops always have them on the shelf.

Ask for the pilot bearing for a 1990 Mustang.

The AUTO and MAN are DIFFERENT

its not a pilot bearing,... the pilot bearing sits in a hole at the end of the engine’s crankshaft. this is the bushing/ bearing at the rear of the transmisison near the seal where the driveshaft is inserted into the tranny

Sorry I missed the "tailshaft" thing...

Call D&D or Hanlon they can sell you the bushing you need, all the rebuild kits I have bought have never came with them but you can buy them seperate.
