I have a 95 GT Convertible (automatic) and I'm currently having problems getting my car to shift. It seems to be very sometimey with it. I read it might be the battery and tried the recommended disconnecting the battery trick which for a moment worked. I took a drive, stopped at a gas station and when I fired her back up boom back to not shifting again.
This problem has only been going on for about a week where it seems some days it cooperates and sometimes it does not. I've filled the Transmission and I check it everyday just to make sure there's been no leaks that I can't see and the levels are fine, though before I knew how to read the thing properly it was pretty low for like a week, although it didn't see too much driving.
Normally I'm shifting at about 2500, after resetting the battery it first took till 3000rpm before it shifted. I hope I covered the basics in describing the problem.
I've read somewhere that bad batteries can cause problems with the car not knowing when to shift, the battery was tested and its just fine.
