HELP car dead...

Well, I woke up this morning all excited because the ice is finally gone since Sunday only to find out my car wont start. My only guess is the battery is dead because I think it is the original battery (63000 on the clock). When I try to start the car, it sounds like a jackhammer somewhat. Like a really fast tapping. Any thoughts? Im going to get a new battery later tonight and see if that helps anything. Thanks for any help. Ill try to keep you guys updated.

sounds like the battery, try replacing it, you need a new one regardless because of its age..but if you want to be 100% certain, try load testing te battery (after it thaws some), if that isnt the problem, then its probably the starter (the jack hammer sound)..

I just put an optima red top in mine. I think it'll be worth the $100 as I have a decent stereo that I like to listen to at car meetings and when I'm working on / cleaning my car so now I can rest easy that it won't crap out on me.
