Gonna need a little more info then just that.

Cheap thing to check out would be the rear gears. I had a gear eat a tooth and it did a pop like that. Besides, its more then likely time to change your gear lube anyway!

periods. are. your. friends.

try this:

Upgrade the stock rubber caliper slide pin bushings to metal ones.
Reason being the stock rubber bushings let the calipers move during braking, so the pad doesn't contact the rotor squarely. This movement reduces braking effectiveness, and causes uneven pad wear from pad cocking under hard braking. You will not notice a lot of difference around town, but at highway speeds you can tell the car slows down quicker. [ installation info] These bushings work on the stock calipers and the SVO 73mm calipers, but not the newer SN95 calipers.

i had the same problem once. i hope its not the same for you.i was going down the highwayone day and it was like someone pulled the parking brake and let off. at first i thought the parking brake cable got caught on the driveshaft, so i looked and saw a dent in the diff cover, the car was driveable so i kep driving it. it did it again so i looked again and now i was leaking gear lube. i pulled the cover off and one of the spider gears were broke off the pin. i ended up cutting the carrier out because the pin was too f*&@#d up to get out.

hope i didnt scare ya

When my 7.5 rear ate itself alive, I thought the tranny was going to explode. Grinding noises in the center of the car and the whole shifter was shaking like the tranny was going to drop on the pavement. Replaced the shredded ring and pinion in the rear and it was back to normal.
