Help...Car won't start after head gasket job

Well I finally got my car back together after popping a head gasket about 6 months ago. I know, I have had other things to do. Anyway, tonight I went to start it and it just turns over. The twin external pumps are running and occasionally the exhaust will pop(backfire). I'm thinking it's a spark problem. Any ideas, I would love to get her running again. Thanks.

did you remove the distributor? even at top dead center, there is a possibility you put it in 180 out...

Yeah, I removed it. I turned the motor also when I adjusted my rocker arms. The more I think about it, the more I think that the distributor is the problem. Thanks.

seems like that would be the problem just reset the timing and you should be ready to go
