help!!! electrical? fuel pump?

ok i was driving down the road and my car lost all power ,when i tried to start it sparks came from the starter cylinoid i replaced the started cylinoid but it still doesnt turn over ,the guy replaced my positive battery terninal connector now i believe there are 2 wires that went into that connector but he has only one is there another wire and is that why it wont turn over or did the fuel pump quit because it died while i was driving ? if ya know please tell me thanks 1985 mustang 5.0

lol that is pretty broad of a description do you hear the FP prime when you turn the ignition? check your ground on your battery as well. check and make sure the batt has enough juice to fire up the engine if it does check your wires,plugs,dist,coil. if not any of those than you might not be geting fuel is that the original FP?

lol is right

i dont know what a fuel pump sounds like when its priming would the starter cylinoid going out while im driving cause the car to just die ? and are there two wires going to the postive connector or just one i had a 280 z once that had two wires and if that smaller one was not connected the car wouldnt start lol dont laugh

check your ground mine came loose and it ran like crap the fp sahould make a whine sound once you turn the ignition.

thats the wire?

thats the wire i think im missing does it come off the positive battery terminal and if so where does it go to the starter ? lol im so lost

no the neg comes off the neg post and ground's on the frame etc..........the positive(red) thick wire goes to the dist/starter you car will also not run if this is unhooked but it might be loose either the neg or positive will cause you car to run like balls if they are loose or coroded. cool??????????????

ok ill check those ,one more question when i had the mechanic replace the starter ,few months ago i had aproblem with it took it back when i got it back he had placed a wire from my stater cylinoid to my neg battery post why would he do that and was that wrong ok that was 2 questions thank u so much u have helped me alot
