HI everyone. I have a 91 stang manual transmission. My flywheel was missing teeth and the starter took a crap. So I just had both of them replaced today. My problem is that I got a billet steel flywheel for a manual transmission with a balance a 50oz and I just test drove it and it vibrates at idol and accelarating. Is this normal. The guy said that "it is more solid now." I dont like the way it feels at all. The installer builds his own engines and has a 740hp 68 camaro so I assume he knows what he is talking about. If this is normal will it just take time to break in, or should I just get a stock one. Please help thanks. -J

My billet steel flywheel doesn't vibrate a bit. (225,000 miles on original motor when I put it on) There was nothing wrong with the stock one, and I noticed it ran smoother with the new billet one. Something is wrong.

Push in the clutch and kill the engine. If the vibration stops, it's clutch related.

Just be careful when doing this as you will have no PS, no brakes and the steering wheel could lock on you (unless you have one of the model with the safety button under the wheel that prevents this)
