You wont be able to beat that ticket, just go to the midigation hearing and tell them u want to go through the Diversion process. it puts you on probation for 6 months unless u get a ticket in 6 months then both tickets go on your record.

This is probably your best bet. From my experience (over 10 tickets here) the judges are leaning toward the cop every time. If you try and deny it and fight it, the cop may mention that you were going well over 60mph, and clocked you on decelleration (some guns can prove that) and most likely, the judge will not only believe him, but make your punishment as bad as he can.

Sometimes you just have to buck up, be honest and beg for mercy. I've been there before, believe me.

Plead innocent, and then go get his notes from the stop -- by the time you get to court he won't remember anything specific, and he'll just be reading from his notes anyway. You want to know what he is going to say. Then it depends somewhat on the judge.

Paul (Darkness) and I have both beaten speed racing tickets, so don't let anybody tell you to just suck it up and take it. Decide that after you know what the cop is going to say in court :). It's in your best interests to fight it, because a lot of insurance companies treat speed racing violations like drunk driving. Bye bye insurance...

yah your screwed man Judges dont give lieniency to that kind of driving. Too many people dieing because of irresponsible drivers like yourself.
This must have been the thread you meant this for :rlaugh:

dont you have to be racing someone else to consider it racing? I got a racing ticket a while ago( 25 years ago) and i was doing 140 mph but i was racing another car and i asked to the cop what ticket would be worse and he told me a speeding ticket would be worse so i took the racing ticket. Maybe if he ticketed you with speeding it might be worse also. A friend of mine got a conducting a speed contest ticket and they didnt even go 10 over the speed limit. just the fact that the accelerated next to each other fast that was enough.

get a lawyer... they get cases dismissed on technicalities...

you are not screwed till the judge says so

You have a lot of experience with speed racing tickets?
haha my only ticket is from when i got pulled doing 75 in a 60 zone in my truck. Like I said its people like him that make our insurance premiums go up. Thanks for the contribution.

our premiums are up, because the insurance companies want to make more money.

there are so many other drivers that jack up our premiums.

for example:
1 80 year old fart
1 car
2 feet
1 gas pedal
1 brake pedal
1 mall full of goodies and big windows
in a sec that fart managed to drive through a couple windows and run over a couple people, causing damages in THOUSANDS of dollars and yet his insurance is sooooo cheap. so who pays for the repairs? US. it's just because we have no choice that the insurance is high. if there were more insurance companies out there with less overhead it would be much cheaper for everyone. alas that will never be possible here.
