i just rebuilt the engine in my 92 5.0, i'am leaking coolant at the firewall below the heater hoses. its draining from a hole from the firewall. i dont know if its a drain or what.

heater core man! Good luck with that... But check your hose fittings


Also in the future maybe a better title would get faster response

are you sure its the heater core the leak is on the out side of the car

I just had to replace my heater core because of the same reason you’re talking about; leaking antifreeze through the plastic tube that exits the firewall under the heater hoses. In my case while removing the rubber heater hoses I cracked the soldier joint on the heater core which caused the leak in mine

Looks like your in Fla - bypass it for the summer or until ?

Yes, it is a drain, for your a/c condensation. The evaporator and the heater core are contained in the same housing. When the core leaks it will run out of that drain as well as probably on your carpet. Sucks to be you right about now Major PITA job. Good luck.
