nice shot of nitrous, a set of gears and a new upper/lower intake should wake it up quite a bit.

400 hp is really hard to come by for under 2k. if you want the juice then u can do it but if you want consistent power at all times, you need alot more money.

WELCOME!
I think you need to list what you have and what your goal for the car is as far as driveablity. pics are always welcome as well.

The only way I know to hit 400hp for $2K is a homebuilt turbo kit. Mark on here made some INSANE numbers with a stock long block, and a homemade turbo kit with a master power turbo.

like paul said, homemade turbo. a healthy shot of nitrous will do the trick also.

Nitrous oxide! A new intake manifold, gears, and a 100 shot will make it feel like a whole new car.

Yeah I was also gonna say junkyard turbo kit. 2k would cover that with all the extraneous parts and what not.

Junkyard p heads / explorer intake, w/a used blower off e-bay. Might exceed 2k by a few hundred when all said and done, but it would be close.

tmoss ported stock lower, pullies, drop in K&N, msd digital6+, gears, and a 125-150 shot of n2o (a used kit if you can find a deal on one). $$ for $$ I dont think you will get any more bang for the buck without taking off the heads and pulling the cam. The gears are optional.

Gears might be optional...but will certainly be an instant kick in the pants difference. Id say start with gears. Depending on if you have an auto or not, you'll need a converter.

Should port your lower intake yourself, there is a few DIY writeups floating around. Then save... and buy a turbo setup. And then sticky tires..
Wait for those good buys on the forums and ebay.. Heads and intake..

You should decide how you want this car to run.. Make power where? up top, down low? Trq or hp? Do you want a crazy lopy idle? do you want a sleeper idle? Do you need this as a daily driver, or a weekend racer?

A turbo or supercharger kit would be the easiest and most complete.
