The machine shop put the connecting rod on upside down. The piston faces the right way
but the Numbers on the connecting Rod are faceing down instead of up. Is this going to be a problem ? Just on the one piston all the rest are correct

Bring it back and have them fix it. If it is a pressed on type they will have to do it. If it's a floating type you can do it. What the problem is going to be is the bearing offset will be facing the wrong way. Could this be cause for concern if it was a car that was to be driven by an old lady it might never have a problem but I just would not take the chance. before you go running back to the shop check to make sure all the bearing tangs are facing the right way. If you numbered them when you took it apart you should not have to worry, but just have them fix the one that is not correct.

Well the bigest problem now is money . I rented a engine Hoise for 40 bucks. Now I will have 120 bucks in to that I could have bought one. Thats what realy pisses me off .
Its the time wasted and the money for that.
Paying for the piston to be redone is the least of my worries. Piss me off.
Oh well just going to move on to changeing out the TOP instead.

what this means is........

the rod has a chamfer on one side, which MUST go up against the crank-side, and the un chamfered side of the rod goes against the other rod.
If it it is not done this way, then the there is no clearance for the radius on the crank journal, and the engine will last about 1 week and you will spin a bearing and have to re-do (re-turn)the crank because without the chamfer to give clearance from the crank radius it rubs.
It must be done corectly or your rebuild is junk.
take it back & bite the bullet, you have no option here but to correct it.
sorry for the bad news but that chamfer has a definite purpose !
if you put a torque wrench on the crank with the pistons in, and turn it you should have between 20-30 ft/lbs of pressure to turn it. With this backwards it will take much more (35-60)- this is a quick way of telling whether you got them all in right.
