Well I will give you one, the others are too embarrassing.

(with mods in sig)
Reaction- .017
60ft- 2.3
1/8th - 9.75 @ 76.30
1/4 14.82 @ 100.4

Corrected with density altitude was 14.4@104 (Dont know what that means, its just what I was told) It was in the 80's and humid as hell.

For the life of me I cant tell if the local track sucks or I suck at driving. The first time I took my stock mustang out to the track I ran a 14.3 @ 97. Ever since then I havent beaten that time. Everyone complains that the track prep sucks at our track, but I have nothing to gauge it on as I have never been to a different track.

All I know is at the track I spin off the line, I spin going into second and if Im not careful throw the back end out, and I spin a little in 3rd. I hook up a whole lot better on the street. I know I need LCAs but I dont want to run DR or slicks at the track.

So whats going on????? Suggestions?

it's your 60 ft time...you need stickier tires...it sounds like you might be dumping the clutch and spinning your a$$ off...feather the clutch...i usually launch around 2000 rpms and i feather the clutch out therefore, i get better traction....my best
60' with street tires is 1.94 with my mods listed below

at a strip with really bad prep, i still managed to pull off a 2.06 60'

then wherever you launch, say you launch at 3000 rpms, try 2500, etc...i found that 2000 rpms is a great place to launch for myself...with my mods i'd say 1.94 is pretty daggum good for street tires

He's right, just because your trap speed is good does not always mean your time is gonna be faster. I would get some drag radials, get the tire pressure nice and low, and heat em up in the water box real good and let 'er rip. You should be able to launch a bit higher then too. Your reaction time is pretty good:)

Yes, you want to have the most contact with your tire and the track as possible. That in combination with your launch, 60ft, will bring good track times and should even out the trap speed. Spinning tires just hurts the overall time of your run no matter what your speed was when you crossed the finish line.

Actually some of the info is not 100% dead on. The reason your trap speed is good and your Et sucks is because you are spinning in 1st and then into 2nd. Meaning the car has enough to run better since it traps at 100 once it finally gets traction, but your ET sucks because you waste time spinning.
Trust me, i had the same experience as you with my car. The car would get sideways into second and kill my ET but i was still trapping 105mph, but the Et wouldnt drop below a 13.59. A 105 trap speed is good for about a 13.2 or better with the right amount of traction. Try a different track if you can and work the clutch of the line. If you spin like crazy into 2nd, try slowing down the shift or shifting a bit sooner just to see what happens to your ET. The time you gain not spinning might outweigh what you lose by shifting earlier in the RPM range.

i hit a 1.94 as well on 245 street tires lol. Did it once last time i had the car out thought i was going to run my best time every but the track prep always sucks so right when i grabbed second she spun shifted out early into 3rd and spun that too. It was like i was driving on ice or something. still ran a 9.0 at 76 though lol

Exactly what I wanted to know! Thanks!
