Hey all.. I need some votes in helping to decide what to do.
Right now, I have a mid 11 second track car. (maybe a little street driven

i need to loosen it up better down low to take advantage of my cam's powerband.. so i either need to shell out $500 for a 4200-4500 rpm converter, or i could take a tremec that I have sitting in my garage and buy a clutch/pressure plate/flywheel/throwout bearing/quadrant and put it in to replace the c4.

either way, I'll be spending about $500.. should I just get the converter for my current c4 or swap to the tremec? I know the c4 is more consistant, but I'm not looking for consistancy, this is not a bracket car. I know 5 speeds are faster. its been proven, I just dont know how feasible it is to go low-11's/10's shifting a 5 speed with 4.88's outback.. and how often I'll eat up tremecs???

Throw in your two cents and help me decide.

Thanks.

I'm an auto guy all the way. Both are excellent choices as far as durabilty goes. Since you say you don't bracket race I would say put the Tremec in it. If you plan on doing any bracket racing at all go with the C4.

i'm a stick guy but for your car i would stick with the auto"nobody can shift faster than an automatic"but if you do go stick and since its a track car consider getting the tranny proshifted

Seing how you're not looking for consistancy, I would run the 5spd. It would be a lot more fun, and a little faster than the c4. What model tremec is it?
