Let's pretend I don't know anything about 4.6s. Let's pretend I don't even know what CAI or MAF or WOT stand for, and even if I did, I wouldn't know what they meant. Let's pretend I want to GRADUALLY build my GT to be a WS6 killer. And let's pretend I have unlimited financial resources. Ah, pretending is fun.
Now, is there a book or three out there where you can learn all this stuff and make educated decisions about how to mod your Stang? Every day, there is a new thread up here about "What should I do first?" I'd prefer a book that can start simple, and get down to the nitty gritty for those with the brainpower to understand. Anyone know how you can learn about all this stuff???? Thanks for pretending with me.

I picked up a book by Sean Hyland called "How to Build Max-Performance 4.6-Liter Ford Engines." It's a great book, but not as basic as you're talking about. You might be able to learn some stuff on www.howstuffworks.com. I learned a lot of my stuff from forums, just browsing and asking questions about stuff I don't understand.

Four-stroke Performance Tuning by A.G.Bell is a great book. He tells you how things work and how everything else changes in relation to a mod. It is funny to read what he says about cam design, and then go look up dyno charts, he seems to know his stuff. There is probably more information in there than you will ever want.
