Well I'm calling on some quick help from stangnet because I basically have 12 hours to do a lot of stuff to my car. Some background. Car was stolen a few weeks ago and I just picked it up today (after getting a new front sway bar, steering column, subframes, and having what was left of the door locks shaved still have some body work left to do but other then that things are looking up) well it has some problems I have to take care of if I hope to go racing this weekend!

3. The original front sway bar was bent and the mounts broken after the car was stolen. I got a new steeda bar and mounts. The bar is rubbing my passenger side rim! :bs: Odd thing is the driver side mount was the one badly broken. Could this be because of a bad alignment? Car will be up in the air tomorrow so I'm going to check everything best I can. It is only happening when the car is in a parking lot at slow speeds luckily but I don’t like messing up my brand new bar! (it is already tearing up the bar pretty good)

2. ABS no longer works as of today! I picked it up and shortly there after managed to flat spot my front tires trying to verify if the ABS was actually on or not. (ABS light is on and stays on) What should I check? I just bleed the brakes about 4 months ago but will be doing it again soon (probably Saturday night since I will heat up the brakes pretty good sat morning) I still need to re-check the fluid level ideas?

1. The car is stalling! It stalls when I put the clutch in and the revs drop once they drop so low the car just stalls it isn't all the time either but it is happening enough to be scary (loss of power steering) I almost wrecked the car because of this tonight ended up in the turning lane of the opposite side of traffic luckily nobody was there! The EGR is currently off the car I suspect this might have something to do with it. Any vacuum lines I can check that might be causing this? IT ONLY STALLS WHEN ROLLING DOWN TO A STOP WITH THE CLUTCH IN. Current plan to fix this and my CEL is to put the EGR back on (unsure if this related or not).

I got a long to do list was supposed to get the car back sooner so I wouldn't have to stress getting it all done in such a short time but yah know how that works out. :nonono: On top of this stuff. I have to do an Oil change, put on a new rear sway bar, and find and mount and balance some tires.

<-- Currently considering not sleeping tonight. Thanks for your help.

if i could make a suggestion to you, it would be not to rush fixing the car......u should sleep tonite and then get a fresh start in the morning....when you;rs tired u tend to mess things up.......trust me its happened to me before...... :bang:

Yah I slept past my alarm even today I had set at 7:30 to start early. :nonono: But I'm drinking some Dr. Pepper to wake up and I'm about to get to it.

For the sway bar Steeda says I need to get some steering limiters from a 03-04 Cobra, I'm not sure if this is the best solution but it makes sence I guess. I might just put my stock 17's on for now and not use my 18x9.5 rims for awhile. :bs:

The limiters are just small plastic C type clips that go on the steering rack. I have some but have not installed them yet. I had to get them because my wheels hit the stock sway bar at full lock.

Thats what the guy at steeda said to me said even some stock bars rub. :O Well thats good to hear I need to pick some up after this weekend, Seems odd to me thou. Limit the steering radius so you can get a bigger sway bar, better handling car.

Labora, check your sensors for that idle stalling problem. I cleaned my IAT the other day and it idled smoother than it ever had before. Might wanna check your IAC also. good luck

I need to clean it anyhow. But it doesn't stall at idle it will stall during DECELL only with the clutch in.

Cleaned the IAC, Intake temp sensor, Mass air meter, new plugs, new wires, new fuel filter, oil change, ran seafoam thru the vacum lines, got the egr back on. Don't know if this is going to fix the stalling yet because I have to fix a brake line now. :notnice: Before I can drive it.

Need to find a 4 way so I can take the rims off to check the brakes/sensors. (My torque wrench set was in the car that I use for the rims). And after further driving the car more the rubbing is less a issue.

Tommorrow I gotta track down a rear brake line, and still need to locate mount balance tires as well and some misc brake lights so johny law does'nt pull me over.

What did these thieves DO to your car? It soulds like they just jacked it up, and didn't take anything.

They took it out for a joyride more or less. Check out my site for more info...

I still don't know what is up with the ABS. I'm going to put on a new rear brake line tommorrow (one of the hard lines) and a steel braided line for the rear and then bleed the brakes. I still can't get the wheels off the car until I go get a torque wrench set tonight. So will have to wait to check the sensors.

Ouch.

Are the cops involved, trying to track these jack@$$es down? All that mud should've left a fingerprint or two. At least they didn't trash the interior. But yeah, I'd be worried about the engine. Not too much you can do about it right now.

As to your ABS, I wonder if there's air in the lines? I bet when the rear sway bar broke off (I presume it did), it flipped up and damaged the brake line. It's also possible that the ABS unit was damaged when the Cobra was taken off-road. You may have to go to a mechanic or the dealer to see what the code is. I honestly don't know how to read the ABS codes.

Cops did nothing and won't do anything that is tha Dallas PD for you. :notnice: Engine is fine Was run 1 qt low on oil and still kicking these 5.0 motors are strong!

I guess this is possible. The brake lines are fine and intact. (I just had a Steel Braided line I need to install) But they did heat the brakes up a very good bit because when I picked it up the car there was a good bit of dust on the rims. I guess it is possible offroad action may have hurt the ABS unit I'll have to consider that.

Edit: Going to give that shot when I get home..

Ah, I presumed your rear brake line was cut or damaged, that's why it was replaced. If it wasn't cut, then I doubt there's air in the lines. As to the ABS, it hangs kinds low on the passenger side of the radiator support. It's possible it got banged up. Maybe a wire got torn out, or is dirty now.

Hmmm, I wonder if one of the ABS sensors got damaged? It might be worth a check.

I was going to check the sensors first but I didn't know you can run a code scan like that on the ABS so I'll do that and see what it comes back with first hopefully its something easy like something unplugged.

That's super gay. It's hard to imagine how on earth those betches did that much damage and didn't get caught. I feel very very sorry for the person that would ever try that to mine. Glad you got it back as complete as it was though.
