ok iv got a engine out of a 85 lincohn and its got all the fuel injection **** off the 86 and the guy i bought ehe moter from said that the 5.0 in there is not a h.o. does it mean it just has a ****ty cam in it or what is there anyway i can get the power back i plan on real doin the whole thing this winter but is there anything that is goin to screw me over is there anyway to tell if it is a h.o. or not

You can check the Motor/Blocks VIN at the rear of the engine. Between the upper bellhousing and the rear of the intake manefoil. If its a HO, -86-93,It should be E6SE-6010-DC.( Mustang Block). If its a -85 HO, the number is E5AE-6010-HA. If its a truck engine, its a non roller unit.You have to inspect the lifters./grid. The s.heads should be E5TE or E7TE, if its a -87+ unit.
But if it is a -85 engine, use the Blocks VIN for your search.
