Since my PI intake and X-pipe install, I have lost alot of TQ in the lower RPM's. I don't want to install a TQ converter so what other options do I have? I can't think of anything other than some cams and I don't even know how much TQ that will bring me. Suggestions plz.

Thanks

Most cams are for top end, so you won't gain any low end tq. Hmmmmm...Tq Converter!! Or you could go for some kind of power adder.

Did you actually lose tq (dyno'd) or do you just feel that you did?

I think the TQ just sorta spread itself a little thin down low and beefed up a little up high in the RPM range. I'm sure I didn't really lose any, I just don't have that jump anymore. There has to be something to do, to gain back some of the snap. Would a tune help? I have not yet had one and was thinking that or perhaps SuperChips Tuner.

HELP!!

Oh yeah....

Can't afford the power adder right now, LT's won't pass damn CA. CARB and I already had 3.73's installed (still kicking myself in the arse for not going 4.10's)

put it on the dyno.. if you didn't really lose tq like you said then I guess get nitrous or something for the "pull" that you wanted..

here are some links offering opinion and info on torque in the low-end.

http://www.alternativeauto.com/techtips/techtips_46.html

http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/cgi-bin/flowmaster/faq.html?id=RRH4AQnZ

http://www.magnaflow.com/07techtips/faq/question10.htm

http://www.dynomax.com/techsupport.stm

overall, it seems that unless you plan on making over 300hp a 2.5" mid-pipe will lose low end torque and shift the powerband upwards which may not make you happy. most people will be better off with just a cat-back for street driving. power-adder 4.6's really can benefit from a mid-pipe upgrade.

Advancing your timing to about 14* by either using a chip or timing aduster, helped my car on the low end. It made it fell alot peppier.

All good input. It looks like my X-pips is hurting me more than anything at this time. The T/A is going to be my next mod I guess. I didn't think it would make much of a differance but a few people have told me to go that route. Also looks like I need to build these heads sooner than later. Gotta make more ponies to get the TQ up I guess.

Thanks

The tb and plenum helped me alittle, but the 4.10's more than made up for it.

Was thinking about it some more and decided I need to quit screwing around and get these PI heads from my buddy and build them up.

Can someone tell me exactly what I need/what I should use, to make a strong set of heads. I plan on using either Comp or Crane cams and maybe a good set of roller rockers. I think that's what they are called.

looking at your mods i doubt you could have lost that much torque. and your X pipe helps much more than hurts, always. btw, puting on large port heads with cams is gonna cost you even more torque...but thats ok if you want to be fast :-D

Perhaps you gained so much at the top the bottom end feels inadequate in comparison?

I wish that was the case, but with non-PI heads I doubt it.
