Help me "OinkAodeOink"

I am having the same problem you had with priming the oil system on a rebuild. What did you find out?

Greg

"Trying to prime a new motor, so we are cranking it over with the spark plugs out and the coil packs unplugged. Problem is we are not seeing any oil pressure on a guage we hooked into the oil filter housing.

The starter is kicking over the flywheel (finally) and the battery appears to have a strong charge. What can I do next to figure out if the oil pump is good. This is a brand new shortblock with a new high flow oil pump.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks, Mike

I guess I got lucky because when I started my brand new forged shortblock all I did was crank the engine over for around 2.5 minutes and then started it up, I made sure I had lots of assembly lube on the cams. But its been running ever since and no problems have appeared yet.
