Help me out here, my power seat died

Ok, my driver's power seat no longer works, and it's really pissin me off. I can't even move it so now i am uncomfortable every time i drive it. What can i do? Can i just buy a new motor and slap it in there. This has to have happened to someone else here. Please help, i am very near selling it!

same happened to me. checked the fuse and that was it. i believe its a 15a.

If the motor is shot than your screwed. They don't just sell the motors you HAVE to buy a hole new seat track that comes with everything new $225. Unless you go to a junk yard that would be cheaper. Or buy a used one from www.stangparts.com. I had the same thing happen to me. Luckely for me I get discounts from my local Ford delear ship.

That sucks, I am battleing my girls 95 gt seat that has a bad gear and does not move anymore. I found a seat moter for sale from this guy so here ya go: pars0080@umn.edu All I need is the gear on the driverside corner of the seat track ! Ford or somebody else needs to make a rebuild kit for the power seat tracks !

Its probably the gear in the front driver's side corner. If you look under the seat you can see it spinning. If it happens to get stuck forward, you can take a star shaped socket and take off the back bracket (once you look you'll know what I mean) to get the seat off. You'll undertand that, too, if it gets stuck forward, because you can't reach the bolt/nut in back to remove the seat.

My seat quit working too and it turned out to be the switch on the front of the seat. Cost around $125 from my local Ford dealer.

My power seat stopped working a couple years ago, the easiest way I saw to determine if it the motor or switch was bad, is to remove the seat, and use a jumper wire to the harness to see if the seat will move.
