When you have to do a little at a time due to budget.

You have to be careful not to get all

Small mods usually give small gains and before you know it

you look around and say

"I've spent all this money and my car is not all that much quicker"

Here is a prime example if you will

Pass up pulleys, tb's, maf's, chips, etc and go straight to steeper gears

Those gears will give you more fun than any or all of the above junk.

Plan things out so you don't waste your hard earned money and most of all

Have fun

Our cars are so choked by the stock heads and cam it's not even funny. Before I had my combo in the sig, I just had the exhuast and Explorer intake which didn't seem to do much for power by SOTP. Once I did the cam and heads (everything else is still stock), the car was a beast. It made a HUUUUGE difference, to the point where all I could say once I first got on it was HOLY CRAP The total cost for the the heads + cam + explorer alone (including headwork) was less than $1200. I spent a lot more since I added a bunch of other little things like rockers, timing chain, motor mounts and of course gaskets, fluids, tools, etc . . . the whole nine yards.

Once the motor and supporting junk is done, I'm definitely going gears. That should be a fun change.

So if you do a H/C/I and add on the other stuff later like the (U/D Pulleys, Throttlebody, CAI, etc.) you will be better off and notice a huge difference by spending about the same amount of money instead of buying all the little stuff to free up close to 25-35 horses, instead just jump 55-65 with a H/C/I instead?
