Ok, so I have about $1000 to spend on my car. And since the front end it going to ****, I might as well spend it there.

I know I need new ball joints, bushings, struts, shocks, and maybe new springs. Id like to get some nice control arms in the front and back too.

I was looking at the Steeda X2 ball joints, but I would like top change my a-arms too.

So what should I get for that budget.

Im also planning on getting some Cobra brakes, but that wont be coming from the $1k.

The 03 Cobra front A arms with low friction ball joints can be had for 165 for the pair. This is directly from the site that sells them.
● This kit enables owners of 1994-2004 Mustangs to upgrade to 2003-2004 Cobra Mustang control arms.
● The kit features (2) front lower control arm assemblies with 50% stiffer rear bushings and low friction ball joints.
● These control arms have a redesigned stamping to improve the turning circle approximately 10% on 1994-1998 Mustangs.

And theyre Ford racing, so you can stay with the blue oval.

That is one of the big dilemmas . I want the X2 ball joints, and new A-arms. I dont want to pay for an extra set of ball joints Ill never use.

Heres one way to look at it. Typical lower ball joint costs between 40 and 65 dollars from Ford. For 165 youre getting two low friction ball joints, two Cobra A arms and new bushings. Ball joints alone would be about 80 percent of that cost. I think the arms would be a bargain even if they didnt have ball joints. Me personally, 130 plus shipping for just two ball joints is a little ridiculous. But again, thats just me. Seems like a lot of money would be spent on a wear item like ball joints, then youd still have to get control arms. Would the X2s even work in tubular aftermarket A arms?

You could always get the cobra arms and X2s and press them in in place of the low friction ford ones. Then youll have a backup pair of good ball joints.

I was thinking about that, but Id probably just throw them up on eBay.

Ill probably end up getting the X2 ball joints, and teh Cobra CAs and just keep or sell the OEM ball joints.

So now that we have that out of the way, what could we go with as far as the rest of teh suspension?

So far I have M&M C/C plates and H&R Race springs. Id maybe like to get some new springs though, my car leans to one side.

Just a heads up about the leaning. My car has the same issue and it turns out that its because the right rear spring is corkscrewed a little to a different position than the driver side. Both pigtail ends are supposed to face the drivers side and my passenger is facing straight up. Something to remember when you install the new ones.

Get a used set of 03/04 cobra shocks for the front, dirt cheap and very nice.

For the back go to MM's site and get some bilsteins
