i recently installed a set of Tri y headers and i had to install the bracket that is required. so now my control arm is hitting my header on the drivers side. do they make soemthign special for this or what? i cant turn left shap and its hurtin my driving

What kind of bracket? I ran Tri-Y's for a few years and do not remember a bracket.

its called a power steering bracket thing..it actually lowers a steering arm underneath so it doesnt hit the header

......................and there have been some problems with it breaking due to metal fatigue.

well what do you all suggest about my steering? i cant take sharp turns to the left and its killer trying to find a parkin spot easily enough to go into

Just buy the braket to lower the power steering! I think its like $20 every Mustang vendor sells them! Takes maybe 1/2 hr to install.

Hang on, he said he's already installed it. Does it hit the header without it installed?

Wait, what is it hitting? You said your control arm, but that is with suspension and is in your shock tower. Do you mean the pit-man arm? It goes from the steering box to your linkage right?

yes the pitman arm is hitting the header pipe
the bracket that i installled was used to lower the hyd shock for the power sterring its ok its lower now but the arm on the sterring box
( pitman ) hits the pipe now when i steer to the left it was fine till i did the headers?????

Ya, that's normal. My pit-man arm hit my headers too. Simple, yet harsh fix. Get a hammer and have at it until it fits. You don't need a large dent, only a small one. However, it is still needed.

That's why I'm running shorties now. My pitman arm hit my Tri-Y's, also. Changed motor mounts from '65 - '66, moved engine up, moved engine back, but could never get the header to clear the steering linkage. I had the exhaust shop cut the driver side Tri-y and weld in a "U" to allow for the steering linkage to clear.

90% of all headers need some banging on when new. Its almost non-profitable to make headers for EVERY EXACT year and model. Headers are one of the must universal parts ever sold, mind you not like a carb or anything but you get my meaning. More common on new headers is to be banged on to fit clutch linkages. Anyway, it is the only way to fix it, and works good.
