here is my problem: my tranny is whining in 3rd, and it always has, BUT recently it pops out of 2nd gear on down shifts. I have been checking out some options, I could rebuild the tranny with a kit, like in jegs, or mustangs unl't, but WHAT does thus kit include, and will it fix my problem?($250), 2nd, i tried to find a new tranny in magazines, like summit, etc but all they have are t-5 that say will not fit 94-95. Also, the tremics say they wont fit our cars! I realize that out trannys are different from the fox trannys but why and can they be made to fit? Lastly, i was thinking junkyard....obviously the 95-95 cars have compatable trannys, but are there any newer cars that have trannys, t-5 that will bolt right up, due to milage on the 94-95 cars. Thanks!!!

In order to use a 87-93 trans, you need a 87-93 bell housing and clutch fork. You will also need a D/S spacer as the FOX trans is shorter. When you purchase a Tremec, most shops will also sell you the parts for it to work in our cars.

Check with Hanlon motorsports or D&D performance. They should be able to tell you what you need.

besides the basic rebuild kit you're for sure gonna need a new input shaft and 2nd or third gear....Had the same stuff done on my t5 in my 94 and it cost over $600 from D&D performance. The tranny then blew up about a month later. T5's are junk and don't put a dime into it. Just get the tremec.

Here's what I got for the swap.

Aluminum Tremec bellhousing.....Fit's perfect....unlike some steel ones...
Tremec3550
D&D shifter (same as steeda...literally)
driveshaft spacer
Clutch fork
TO bearing'
Gm synchromesh fluid.
new speedo gear.....Tremec's have a better 7tooth drive gear unlike the stock 8tooth so you need a different driven tooth to keep your speedo correct

It was like $1800 total. Swapped in like 2 hours on the lift.
