Hello I am new to the forum. I have been having trouble with my engine balance.
I swapped in a 1980 302 C4 into a 91 4 cyl l.x. It came with a streetdamper balancer part number matches 302 28 ounce. I swapped in a T5 from a 88 GT flywheel and all this was before I knew about this difference in engine balance. The flywheel is at the shop being balanced. I was going to put the C4 into the GT so I needed get a 50 ounce flexplate is this correct? I was told I could use a flexplate out of a 81 and newer 5.0 AOD So I pulled one out of a 86 5.0 302 from a thunderbird. It is the same as the one that was on my 1980 302 C4 combo it shouldn't be or should it. I am lost. I don't even know what I have anymore. Could I have been running the wrong flexplate. If 81 and up 302 is at 50 ounce that should have been a 50 ounce flexplate in the 86 302. Sorry for rambling on but I am really having trouble with this one. Any input would be great.
