Worked on my 65 Hardtop today. I replaced a defective Mallory Unilite today with an MSD Pro Billet. Fired right up but within moments my interior lights went Nuclear bright and a small amount of smoke came from under the dash by the Wiper and Headlight knobs. Then interior lights went dead. Shut down the 289 and looked under the dash but couldn't really see anything wrong. All fuses are good, all 5 or 6 of them, hahahaha. Problem is now I have no power at all. No headlights, horn, gauges don't move. Battery is showing 12.5v and strange this is there is "NO SPARKING" connecting the ground cable to the battery.

Could my alternator have fried and just kill all power in the car??? Clueless as to what happened.

Hope someone can help!

Sounds like maybe the ignition switch could have fried? Check the battery hot lead coming into the ignition switch first to confirm you have power coming in. If you do have power coming in then flip the ignition on and check for power out on each wire coming off the switch. Check all those wires around the ignition, wiper, and headlight switches for melted or brittle wire insulation. The smoke you saw could possibly have been from that insulation starting to melt.
