HELP!! oil spitting out my dipstick hole.

so i got in there tonight, only to find that my cobra didnt even have a freakin pcv valve...someone put a big rubber stopper thing in the hole and they put a bolt in the end of the vaccum line...what would be the purpose of doing this? i went ahead and put a new valve in and i let the car warm up with out the dipstick in, and there was no sign of oil coming out anymore...i just dont know why there wasnt one there....could this (lack of pcv valve) also be the cause of some of the oil leakage i have been having?
thank you

Absolutely. Your crankcase was becoming pressurized causing oil to squirt out any gap it could find.

They were probably trying to fix some other issue and thought that would help. It just goes to show, if you don't fix something right the first time, you're going to create more (and usually bigger) problems down the road.

Glad you found your problem.

Well I have a similar problem, but I have a new PCV and screen in. The oil pressure sits about the A on the gauge and it blows oil out the filler neck nipple and also the dipstick tube. I don't have the vacuum hose hooked up from the filler neck to the inlet tube because I have a temp. intake that doesn't have a nipple to attach it to.
Do you think if i put the stock intake tube on for now so that vacuum can suck some of the pressure out of the crankcase, my problem will be solved.

It may help, but it sounds like you have some blow-by past the piston rings. Try the original intake tube to see if that helps. I would also do a compression check.

because my car was dyno-tuned to a certain a/f ratio with the supercharger and the pcv valve hole closed off, will me putting a pcv valve in there change all of that stuff? or will it not really matter?

well i got the chance to drive it tonight, no oil was coming out of the dipstick tube, and no smoke...so that is good. i still have a oil leak from the underside of the car somewhere though, it is nowhere as big as it was yesterday, but still there is a tiny leak now...

still wondering about my a/f ratio....did i change it by putting that pcv valve in where there wasnt one before? if so it was dyno tuned without one in...what to do?

Go to a dealer,or look at a chiltons for the diagram,it will show you how it is suppose to be.Does it only blow oil when you beat on it?
