Help on 03 blower light

Recently purchased a cobra, and have only floored it in 2nd gear, never first. Then tonight I installed a Steeda CAI, the old one was a mod but don't know what kind (the air filter fits inside the fender wall). With the Steeda, the car burped when coming out of housing edition, and when I floored it in first gear (first time to ever do that so had no prior experience to go on) it acted up, I pushed the clutch in, and the blower light came on for a second and then went off. I went back home and put the old CAI kit back on and everything seemed ok again, however, I floored it in first gear again, it acted up, and the blower light came on.

Now that I think about it, I didn't shift out of first, and it didn't act up right away so I think I hit the rev limit (damn that thing revs quickly in first) and that's what caused the hickup. I have hit the rev limit in third gear before. But I still can't explain why the blower light came on and went back off.

Any ideas?

Yep.

Turn your traction control off. What your seeing is the trac control indicator light, meaning it intervened and cut the power when you spun the wheels.

There is no "blower light" on the '03-'04 Cobra. You are certainly not the first one to ask this question, though. It's confused a lot of folks.

If you recently swapped out your in-fender CAI for the Steeda unit, I suggest you disconnect your negative battery cable and then get in and pump the brakes a few times. Now go hook the negative battery cable back up. This procedure will clear the ECM memory and cause it to re-learn the new mod.

P.S. And make it a habit of shutting off the traction control every time you start the car....

It's always nice to learn "yourself" made the mistake and not the car acting up

U.M. knows his stuff... but I wouldn't take his advice of turning the t/c system off everytime you get in the car... you might find yourself in the ditch but definately turn it off when you are wanting to play.
