Ok,
I am finally getting back to my A/C delete project. I am in need of some info on how to take of the belt tensioner, I need to relocate it between my power steering pump and water pump. I have tried and used a wrench but have had no luck. Is there a special way i need to do this or a special tool? Any help would be great.
Thanks alot.

Why are you relocating it?

WHy not just use the FMS kit that moves the PS pump up a bit and then you can leave the tensioner where it is and it all looks stock and clean

5L5,
I got th whole kit and under drive pulleys already installed, don't really want to scrap the a/c kit I have. there has to be a way to move the tensioner. I will be trying again tonight.
Thanks

is there any way that you can post pics?
i would say to use an air wrench.
what kit is it? its not the FMS one or the bracket/pulley idea. just curious, i have heard of people using the repositioned tensioner, but i really dont care for them that much.

I am going to try and post a couple of pics..........the first one of is where the a/c delete plate is (between the water pump amd power steering) the seconfd one is a close up of the plate itself. You can see 3 holes in it. that is where the belt tensioner will be relocated.
Any ideas?
Thanks alot.

I've taken mine off before, wasn't hard, just need to hold it tight if you have the whole bracket assembly off the car. I believe the bolt might be left handed threads. Hope this helps some

I dunno, seems like you are overcomplicating something simple.

I think it would be better to get the FMS kit and use that and call it a day

not sure if you got ur tensioner off yet but It was real easy, just one bolt in the middle of the part that holds the spring, not the bolt on the pulley. THen when you got to put it back on and u need to open it up just stick a breaker bar inbetween the two parts of the tensioner and just pull it up ... Thats what I did when I installed my FMS a/c delete kit, It worked good... I wasnt sure if there was a way to loosen the tension all together but this way is fine...
