Help out a 5.0 novice?????

Hey guys, Ive been a mustang owner for a little while now and recently a good friend of mine bought a 5.0 LX. Its a very nice car in great shape. Anyway, heres my questions. Ive owened a mustang long enough to get pretty educated, but i own a 4.6, so i dont know too much about 5.0s. My question is this. Is there anything about 5.0s i should tell him. Little tips and tricks you guys do, free mods and stuff like that. I heard that 5.0 are full of things you can mess with. Any help, info, suggestions, tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanx a lot.

you can always advance the timing a couple degrees, but you have to run high octane. remove the air silencer. it is directly opposite to where the air filter is (inside the fender), that will let it breath a little better. His first mod should be gears, i would say 3.73s with a 5speed, or 4.10s with an auto. however everyone has their own opinions when it comes to that.

I have a pretty stock motor, with just headers and mufflers, and 3.73s. the average person would never guess it had a stock motor. and 5.0s are wayy easier to work on than 4.6s.
