Help!!!...Please Look

I have my car covered up in the garage for the winter and I pulled the cover off the other day to show someone the car and I noticed some of the material on the battery blanket is frayed. My first thought was that something is rubbing on it but I don't think that is the problem. Could it be a mouse? We just built the house a year and a half ago and I have never seen any evidence of mice anywhere. Has anyone else seen anything like this? I am including a picture plus an earlier picture from this summer that shows how it used to look.

Looks like mice got to it brother. They got my explorer one time. Ate through the hood blanket and right through the middle of the main wire harness costing me over 6k (supercharger money) to fix. It is a lot of work to replace the entire main wire harness on a modern vehicle. My suggestion is that if you leave the car sitting for any length of time, buy that green dehydrating mouse poison. It comes in packages and sprinkle it inside the engine bay of your car. It is the most effective mouse deterrent. Mice like dark warm places and a motor bay is the perfect opportunity. At least your isn;t as bad as mine was....lol.....good luck

I've got that on my truck's battery wrap. I would think the wrap is resistant to any battery acid because it's like a polyester material, so I'd say it's a freakin' mouse. The little b^ast^rds fill my truck's air box up with acorns.

I was actually hoping that someone was going to tell me it is from acid fumes coming from the battery or something else. Wishful thinking I guess. My wife picked up some sticky traps and mouse poison for me today (she still hates the f...ing car though, something about me being obsessed with it) .

stuff some moth balls in your engine bay (only during storage times, of course). Mice hate those.

get some of your wifes old stockings and put 10 or 15 moth balls in them and place a couple of stockings filled with the moth balls under the hood . mice hate the smell of them and will not go near your car . hope this helps

You have mice!! Go to Wal-Mart or any large grocery store and get several packages of the mouse 'glue boards'. They usually come 3 to a pack and only cost a couple dollars per pack. Put a couple under the hood, a couple in the trunk and a couple on the front and rear floorboards (very important to protect the interior). Then put one on the floor at each tire (that's where they climb in at). These will work much better than moth balls and they won't leave your car smelling like an old sweater.

maybe a vandalism claim? LOL YOU GOT MICE or a mouse. No doubt. Had the same prob as soon as it got cold. I just put the cat in the garage.
