ok, my brother has a 1997 v6 m/5 mustang that has been having problems with massive overheating. it seams that just about everything has been done but to no avail. when hooked up to the computers the dealer and another mechanic have reported upwards of 20 different codes going on and off. some said that the entire engine is just "gone" but compression numbers seem good. theyve replaced the mass air, tried removing the cat and a littany of other things. finally he's taken it to another mechanic who believes it may be the computer/vcm and is going to order that. has anyone else had this problem before and is there something simple (ie cheap ) you can recommend trying? any help is appreciated,

could be bad timing or maybe the fan does not come on. mine started getting hot until i notice that the fan would only come on for about 8 seconds every 10 or so minutes. so i unplugged the sensor that is next to the coil pack. i replaced that sensor not too long before then too. now the fan stays on the full time it is running and it stays super cool.
