99 GT auto Had about 1/8 of tank and was heading to the station. I pulled out left and got into a little and then it just stalled almost like someone pulled the fuel line out. Popped the hood and noticed my air filter in my shaker was out of its seated postion, so I took apart the shaker and put the filter back in. I thought this was the problem, so I got a 2 gal of gas and started it. Well it starts and idles down and then dies all in about 3 secs??? I have fuel pressure via gauge. If I pump the gas for a sec it runs and stutters and stalls. I had a similar problem last fall, turn out to be my charger piping was disconnected (it acted similar with no start, but smoked alot due to the richness etc) Help me guys all the good shops are 3-4 weeks out in MI. Just make sure everything is put back together correctly with no loose connections to the MAF and IAC and a good seal on the air filter. Spray some carb cleaner through your IAC also. Then reset the PCM by disconnecting the battery. Hopefully, you will be ok after that...

Are you using high quality premium fuel?

iac? yeah it seems to have a good seal...what will the carb cleaner do? It's weird cuz it jerked to the right and a spilt sec later it died...like I said it's almost like someone pulled the plug! Could the low gas have any affect on it, the gauge reads just over a 1/4 now?

The IAC valve can stick it causes similar problems to what you are having. The carb cleaner sometimes helps a new one is best if that is in fact the problem.

Also never let a supercharged car get below 1/4 tank of gas. The fuel can slosh away from the pumps and starve the engine of fuel. If that happens under full boost the engine she go boom.

Are you using top quality high octane fuel?

I suggested you reset the PCM. I still think you should do that its free.

yeah i did disconnect the battery for a bout 30sec. I use only 94 at sunoco. It's running at only 5lbs. I never let it go below 1/4 but the wife and I were running late for a wedding blah blah...lol Does the battery need to be disconnect for a certain peroid of time? Also do you think since I was on such low fuel and stepped the rear end out it could have sucked some air in the fuel line?

sounds like something mine did once when the vacuum line that goes to the IAC valve was disconnected by accident. there are a couple lines that could cause it actually. check the PCV line as well.
