Hey Everyone!
I was just getting started on a project on my friends Mustang. We are installing lowering springs. We got the car jacked up and the sway bar removed. We then took the bolt out to seperate the control arm from the carrier. We put the new springs in and now the Control arm hole will not line up with the carrier. What do i do? Please help!! Thank youu!

am i understanding this correctly? you unbolted the control arm? you dont need to unbolt it... all you have to do is unbolt the struts from the top and from the spindles, then unbolt the sway bar, pull off the caliper and slowly lower the control arm down to where it hangs freely...no need to take it off.....

if anything, id pull the spring out, bolt the control arm back up, put a jack under it, place new spring into place then raise control arm...its not gonna line up correctly at first but once you start raising the control arm it will slide right into place

hope that what you meant anyway....

This happened to me when I removed my stock exhaust without cutting it to remove it. I unbolted the upper control arm from the rear differential and the diff. slightly moved over once unbolted. All you need to do is get a floor jack under the middle of the rear diff and raise/lower it until it lines back up. You might even have to shove the rear axle assembly left or right some or even twist it front to back some to get it to line back up. Don't worry, it will go back together. Hope that helps?

You can also use a drift to line up the holes when you get it close.

Sounds like the rear end rotated when the bolts were removed. The pinion is front heavy and will tend to drop. You can use a jack under the center carrier towards the front to lift it back into alignment.

Note, the suspension parts should be tightened up while the weight of the car is fully resting on the suspension. Otherwise, suspension wind up and abnormal bushing wear will result.
