Okay, so long story short my engine's been doing this ticking/knocking thing and now i'm 90% sure it's because of a loose engine block / exhaust manifold bolt . I threw the car on ramps last night and it is looking impossible to reach any of the bolts. I've heard about dropping the K member, but is this completely necessary? I know it's coming from the passenger;s side, so i'm not even concerned with the driver's side. Any advice/tips/etc. would be welcomed and greatly appreciated.

are you talking about header bolts? If so, u can reach most of it by disconnecting motor mounts, remove starter and jacking engine up. But its a job tho. If header gasket is whats leaking, no amount of turningg bolts gonna help tho

+1, or you will need to drop the k-member. Have fun w/ that job... I think mity2 has it down to about 3 hours now, but that's with lots of practice :rlaugh:

haha okay, i'm going to have someone who knows what they're doing better than i do have a listen. If it's definitely not from the headers, i'm not going to bother. I'm scared ****less i screwed up something on the inside. oh well, thanks for your help guys!
