heres a kit. it has alum inserts. ++ BIG-SERT Sparkplug ++

Interesting find but the kit you link to doesn't include inserts. On the page, they say:

"M14x1.25 Inserts are also available in aluminum click here: normally used in racing applications, where Nitromethane is used as a fuel. Steel inserts typically have a higher tensile strength than aluminum."

Specialty stuff, really. Their list of inserts:

shows carbon or stainless steel as the typical material.

I still think the inserts the OPer used will be fine.

Is the heli coil a bandaid or will it survive in a mustang motor. I drive it hard and dont want to baby it or worry about that heli coil blowing out.

I have the cash to buy stg2 heads/cams/lt headers/clutch now but dont really want to spend the coin unless I know the helicoil wont last.
