I have about a thousand dollars that I can spend on my car, right now i just have headers, h pipe, and cat back. I was thinking 3.73 gears for sure, but does anyone have any suggestions.

Depending on numerous factors.
are you going for looks, or performance?
or both?
which one would you prefer to have first?

3.55 gears even for myself I find to be sufficient.
granted not quite as fun as a 3.73 gear but at least you're saving yourself maybe a bit of gas if you take your car on highways.

If *I* had a G, I'd do looks first.
Convertible bar, 99-04 saleen rims w/rubber, and lowering springs.
for a G even, you could get a stellar ground kit (cervini's fan here)

Performance? cold air intake... k&n, under drives...
the basics i suppose. I dunno man. Maybe even a killer stereo to blow the pants off your female passengers

3.73 gears or higher would make a big feel it in your seat difference, a nice gear shift makes driving funner, under drive pullies will help power, shocks and struts will give a better ride, wheels if you want to improve looks, tinted windows, cold air kit.

I just spent i think around $1300 (if you include my appointment for my gears/rebuild next week). I bought the trick flow street intake, then the adapter, a new strut tower brace for it, ASP aluminum pulleys, and then the 3.73 gears which will be installed next week.

Do you have sub frame connecters? If not I would get those and gears with the money then whatever after that . I forgot about them, they are a MUST.

Big question is - can you do the wrenching for some mods yourself -or does your budget need to include paying a mechanic?
