I have a 93gt that has a crank no start issue. If i turn the key to start the motor will just turn over, but when i let the key go it will start. It will also start right away if i jump the solenoid on the fender with the key in run. I have already replaced the ignition switch and plug for it. Any ideas? I'm stuck.....

Going back to your other thread about this, did you ever test the solenoid itself? Jumping the big solenoid lugs like you did will bypass the solenoid. The other test utilizes the solenoid to see if it's the issue.

Well, I just ran some tests from the "crank/no start" check list on here and came up with nothing. I tested the solenoid by taking the push on wire off and jumping that stud with the power side of the solenoid and I have spark all the way to the plugs. I have power at the injectors when the key in the run position but don't have a noid light to check it while in the crank position. Any ideas would be awesome. Thank you.

If the car doesn't crank, fix that first. Your battery might be discharged, etc.

Then run the checklist from top to bottom. Don't skip steps and you'll find the issue.

So you have spark while it cranks but will not catch? If so, the TFI should be receiving the start input from the ignition switch. What color was the spark?

The solenoid trigger is receiving a solid 12.0+ V cranking signal? It might not be based upon how you're jumping the solenoid and what is happening. If the crank signal is compromised and the voltage in the circuit is down, that could be why the solenoid is acting up. It could also lead to a weak spark.

Well, I finally got back around to looking into my issue. It's not my daily driver so i wasnt in a hurry to fix it. The car sat for about a month and when i went to start it the other day i noticed the fuel pump didnt come on when i turned the key on. So to make a long story short the pcm needed to be replaced to fix the fuel pump not coming on and my previous issue of not starting when i turn the key(only started when i let go of the key after cranking) Ended up killing two birds with one stone. I opened up the old pcm and found 2 capacitors burnt up. Learn something new every time. Thanks for your help with the issue.
