I'm stumped by the Ford manual. I have a 2001 Cobra I'm replacing the clutch on. I looked up the torque specs in the manual and it said the following:
3.8L 24 lb/ft
4.6 (2V) 16 lb/ft
4.6 (4V) Use 2 step process
Step one: tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft)
Step two: tighten an additional 60 degrees.
If I go to 33 and then turn those bolts another 60 degrees, I'd be at about a 100 lb/ft. They can't mean what they say. Must be a misprint. They weren't that hard to remove. I held the clutch with my hand.
Anyone done this job before?
