Hello to all,
Its been almost 4 years since I've been here. I'll cut to the chase. I just bought an '89 LX 2.3L w/auto trans. I needed a second car and this seemed like a good idea given current gas prices.
The previous owner recently serviced the transmission and overfilled it. The fluid is cherry red, and the trans shifts/works beautifully.
What is the best way of getting the excess ATF out of the tranny? I thought about just dropping the pan and changing out the filter. If I do that, how much ATF will I need to replace to get it near (without going over) FULL?
Yes I know dropping the pan will not get all of the fluid out, but that is not my goal. I just don't want to damage the trans by having it over-filled.
And yes I have done a search.
Thanks guys..........(and possibly gals)
