Help truck tranny? measure tail?

Hmmm I have doubts that the truck AOD will fit the mustang properly what I mean by that is that I think I might have to shorten the driveshaft (don't want to do this).

Does anyone have experience with this?

A machine shop should have no probs Aerostars are supposed
to have aluminum shafts you can cut to fit in a stang.....
I would try that if it is from a truck it likely has different tailshaft
than Stang tranny. But consider the Aerostar it is said to be true.

really? well I called the local junk yard and they have some but will it fit on an 8.8? and would it fit in the tailshaft? Also should i get one from a 3.0L or a 4.0L?

you want the one from a all wheel drive some are steel some are alm u want the alm one

okay I did some searching; the AWD model is like a direct fit for a Mustang... I need to get it shortened because I'm sure the transmission isn't like a stock AOD for Mustangs as it comes from a Van.

I found a shaft for $30CAD now there is a place nearny that only works on driveshafts and it will cost less than $100 for a total of $130 CAD for an alum. driveshaft.
