HELP!!!! upper and lower intake advice

i heard something that the intake off of a ford explorer is the same thing as a gt40 intake, if not what is a good choice for an intake. Im buying a 347 stroker kit, and i need good heads and a good intake for a street mustang (IDLE TO 3500 RPM). Thanks guys. I have limited time

Yeah explorers do have gt40 intakes. I was going to get one then I ended up finding a cobra on ebay I don't know what one is better. I think some explorers have the gt40 heads but I could be wrong on that one.

it is the upper intake, lower intake, and the throttle body off of a 98 ford explore, Is that the gt 40 upper and lower, is it good? and hows the throttle body?

tom2001gt, how much did you pay for the Cobra and what size TB did you put on it. I see that some new Cobras go for about $400 and I have not seen them much cheaper anywhere! I have heard that the Explorer intakes use stock lowers and gt 40 uppers and have to be modded to accept smog equipment!

It's a similar lower intake to the GT40/Cobra and the upper is closer to a Cobra upper intake.


But for a 347 stroker, there are far better intakes out there than the Explorer.

I payed about $350 including shipping and im using a 65MM throttle body with it. I got it off of ebay it looked almost new.

I bought mine when summit was having one of those 10% deals. I think i paid $357 including shipping for mine brand new.

The thing is ford no longer makes it, so supplies are running out fast.
