My daily driver '97 Saturn SC1(Auto) has triggered the MIL multiple times and always with the same code - P0708 - "Transmission Range Sensor, High Input"
Anyone have any idea about a fix for this problem or what I should check next? It's a generic DTC code and I haven't been able to find any specific fixes for this vehicle/trans.
As far as symptoms go, the car has 166,xxx miles on it and occassionally has a very hard shift into reverse that sets off the MIL light/code P0708 - a loud bang/hard shift. Usually clears out after some driving or clearing with the scan tool and the car continues to shift normally. The trans was replaced around 92,xxx miles with a rebuilt version. Ideas?
