Help with 4:10 gears

Im ready to install them, and I have everything to intall them except for the Torque specs and Preload pinion gear bearings specs. Does anyone know or where could I find out. I dont really have the time to go to the dealership either. Thanks

how hard is it to install them? Iam kinda worried about trying to do it myself. So how hard would it be for someone who has never done it before?

it will be time consuming, and you need quite a few specialty tools that most people do not have. if you have a good mechanical knowledge, then you can get it done.

Torque the pinion nut to 20 inch/lbs of rotational drag. This will ensure the correct pinion bearing preload.Then Bolt the ring gear back onto the differential. Tighten each bolt to 70 to 85 ft/lbs of torque while using a crisscross pattern. Use a vice to hold the differential steady. and now Set the differential back into place, complete with its carrier bearings and races. Reinstall the caps and their bolts back where you got them, and torque the cap bolts to 70 to 85 ft/lbs. then finish up with setting the backlash to 0.008 to 0.012 inch of backlash, And don't forget to tighten the pinion shaft retainer bolt to 23 ft/lbs

There is some good information in this thread, but no one mentioned how important it is to check the pattern. NEVER R&R a carrier without checking the backlash and the pattern. If you don't know what the pattern is supposed to look like you can find a pattern chart in most any repair manual.
