I have a 97 cobra, we recently put it back together and I am scheduled for a dyno appointment at the end of this week; however we ran into a problem. I know I dont have a strong fuel system and that could be the problem but im not sure so I figured one of you guys could help so here goes,

The mods to the car are as follows:

Bottom end bored .030 over with forged internals
comp stage 2 billet blower cams with stronger valve springs now( not sure what kind or how strong came from comp as well)
ported short runner intake
D1-SC with 16 psi boost
SCT mass air meter
anderson power pipe
live wire plug wires with screamin deamon coil packs
and bosch v power plugs (2 steps colder than stock)
42 # injectors
walbro 255 in tank and a trex pusher pump

Now the problem:
Recently installed the trex pump and took it out for a spin, the care breaks up real bad consistently around 6000 rpms so i figured maybe it was the lack of fuel but the trex pump didnt help at all. My buddy seemed to think it sounded a little too consistent to be detonation and suggested it was a limiter put on the car from the last tune that was on it which was for p600b procharger with 5 psi on a stock car with 42 # injectors. He drove it and took it to 6000 rather easily and it sure sounded like a limiter but then it seemed almost as if the car backfired. After that the car wouldnt run right and the oil pressure and voltage gauges were going crazy. The oil pressure would read good pressure for a minute but as soon as we drove it would drop to 0. When the car backfired it did blow the intake tube off. Now the car wont run quite right and I cant figure out for the life of me what it is, the battery is good the spark plugs were good I have plenty of oil....hopefully you guys can help I apologize for the lengthy post

Sounds like you had a little bit of detination. I have a sct ba2400 maf and maxed it out at 5800 rpm. After that it goes lean cause it doesnt read any more air going into the engine. The sct mafs dont work good in a blow-thru application like a procharger. I only had 400 hp and maxed it out, you have the potential for a lot more. Sounds like you blew a couple of holes in your pistions. Did you get a new tune for your new motor? If you were still running the tune from the p600b than I am pretty sure you blew it.

Wow, i did do a compression test and it turned out pretty well all the cylinders were within 30 psi of each other. I got a new tune today and the funny thing is with 42# injectors and a 255 in tank and the p600 tune I had 466 horsepower and we could only rev it out to 4800 before it went dead lean so the blower only made 9 psi. Today however with 60# injectors a trex pusher pump and 255 in tank pump I managed to max a sct big air 2800 and only make a whopping 332 horsepower. Something is definatly wrong, I checked the compression, oil pressure is within ford specs according to my mechanical gauge so now I am definatly lost......any ideas anyone?
